Georg Songbirds by Kay Bojensen
Beautiful dark green songbird with silver leafed beak and legs. This songbird by Kay Bojesen is called “Songbird Georg” as a nod to Kay Bojesen’s apprenticeship as a silversmith with Georg Jensen, which he completed in 1910. The beautiful green hue and the fine silver details are inspired by old silver jewellery from this era and match the other Kay Bojesen songbirds perfectly.

Happiness Red by Kjell Engman
Happiness was inspired by one of Kjell Engman’s trips to the US, where he was captivated by a women’s gospel choir performance at a church, filled with singing and dancing. He has eternalized the memory in various ways with these glass women. The object from Kosta Boda Artist Collection is pressed in a mold at Kosta Glassworks, and then shaped into its unique design and hand-painted.

Jackie Year Lilac Bird Limited Edition by Kay Bojensen
190 $her figurines.Kay Bojesen’s design icon The Songbird has been given a new plumage – chosen by you. The Songbird of the Year 2023 is called Jackie. The delicate yellow beak contrasts beautifully with the reddish head and was inspired by spring and the pretty flowers that blossom at this time. And the contrast between the pale lavender body offset by the darker head accentuates the beauty of this unique Songbird. As always, the Songbird of the Year is produced in a limited edition and is engraved with the year. It is slightly smaller than the classic Songbird, but just as charming. Jackie is made from FSC-certified beech wood, which guarantees that the trees used in production are planted, cultivated and felled responsibly. And it is finished and painted by hand with great precision and skill, just like all Kay Bojesen’s other figurines.

Mother of Pearl – Rosa – 175mm – by Åsa Jungnelius
Åsa Jungnelius, born 1975. She finds inspiration in her own reality. She is interested in how materiality, space and objects change and affect people, our relationship to each other and our surroundings, as well as how it reflects our time. She doesn’t see art as something separate from our lives, and considers it relevant to be involved in designing our surroundings. For her as a designer, it’s about the atmosphere she can create in those environments, and she loves to create things aimed at a wider audience and to create the reality of where people are.
Åsa has worked with glass as a material since she was 17. She has worked with Kosta Boda since 2007, and today she’s also a lecturer at the University of Arts, Crafts and Design (Konstfack). She has previously initiated and run Residence-In-Nature, WeWorkInAFragileMaterial and LASTSTUDIO. One of her larger works includes the art installation Snäckan (Seashell), which in a tribute to motherhood will embrace the upcoming metro station Hagaplan in Stockholm. Over the years, she has received a number of awards – for example, she’s been named Designer of the Year in Sweden by both FORM AWARD and EDIDA (Elle Decoration International Design Award), she’s a two-time winner of the Elle Decoration Swedish Design Award, and has received both the Form Award and the Bukowski Born Classic for her designs.
