Poppy Year Burgundy Bird Limited Edition by Kay Bojensen
190 $FSC® The Year Bird 2022 is Poppy, inspired by the calmness and presence Kay Bojesen possessed when he worked on his designs. You must be deeply focused and present in order to be creative and design something new, and Poppy is a reminder of just that with its muted colours in shades of red, grounding and calm. The body of the bird has a deep, burgundy colour complemented by the terracotta head and the shiny orange beak and legs. A unique combination of colours that make Poppy and elegant and harmonious bird with a balanced and classic look. Kay Bojesen is famous for his original stories made of wood, and in the fall of 2021, we asked all the Danish Kay Bojesen fans to help us add a chapter to the history. We designed two new songbirds, each one with a unique personality and colour combination, and by voting it was determined which one should be added to the collection of Kay Bojesen birds. Poppy is made in a limited number and engraved with ”2022”. Poppy is a tiny bit smaller than the classic songbird, but just as charming. Poppy is made of FSC-certified beech wood, which guarantees that the trees are planted, cultivated, and cut down responsibly. And then she is manufactured and painted by hand with great precision and attention to detail, just like all the Kay Bojesen figurines. The Kay Bojesen collection of songbirds is a great example of his talent for creating figurines full of life and character in a very minimalistic design that still speak to the child within us across generation regardless of age.
