Crackle and thunder – a magical wonder. At Kosta Boda, we marvel at beautifully preserved cracks in glass. The pink vase from the Crackle collection have an expressive, sculptural exterior created using an old handicraft technique in which the hot glass is dipped in ice-cold water. The crackled surface reflects daylight and reveals its stories of fire, earth and water. The vase is mouth-blown in Kosta and designed by Åsa Jungnelius.
Jungnelius’ breakthrough was with her early works in glass and she has since held the position as one of Sweden’s leading artists within the field. Her works are represented in the collection of Moderna Museet, Stockholm, The Swedish National Gallery to name a few as well as several prominent private collections around the world.
